Innovations Bringing STEM and Robotics to Today’s Classrooms

Charles brings over 30 years of experience in emerging technology. He currently serves as the chairman of the board for Critical Links, Modern Robotics, and Instamour.

 

Stephen Barker, CEO of Modern Robotics, Inc.
Stephen has more than 30 years of experience in robotics and technology innovation and is the CEO of Modern Robotics, Inc., which provides the MyBot Education Solution.

 

Thea Andrade, Executive Director of Technology and Innovation, Phoenix Union High School District
Thea Andrade is a key contributor to the Phoenix Unions District Vision 2020 Strategic Plan, she is committed to leveraging technology to help students achieve excellence in college, career, and life, as well as building a strong school community and creating a culture of excellence. A native of Massachusetts, Thea has degrees from the University of Massachusetts and Northern Arizona University.

 

Dr. Althe R. Allen, Chief Academic Officer, Phoenix Union High School District
A native of New York, Dr. Althe R. Allen earned her B.A. at the State University of New York at Albany. In August 1992, she moved to Tempe, Arizona and taught English, theater, and humanities at Thomas J. Pappas School for the Homeless and East Valley High School until 1995. She was recognized by the United States Army Recruiting Command for her dedication and attitude toward teaching and students (1992–1993) and was awarded Teacher of the Year (1994–1995). Allen joined the Phoenix Union High School District as the assistant superintendent for instruction and accountability in October 2010, and was named the chief academic officer in April 2016. She currently heads the Learning, Leadership & Innovation Division.

 

Dr. Aleksandra Leis, CEO, EOS Education
Aleksandra is the founder and CEO of EOS Education. She manages teams of content developers, program managers, and teacher learning consultants, who together provide a range of professional development services for K-12 educators across the country. Aleksandra has graduate degrees from Warsaw University as well as a Ph.D. in Sociology from the Polish Academy of Sciences.

 

Daniel Leis, Vice President of Global Services, Boxlight, Inc.
Daniel is a principal of EOS Education and is currently vice president of Global Services for Boxlight Inc., responsible for developing and executing the company’s strategy for value-added educational services. Daniel serves as the board president of the Arizona Business Education Coalition (ABEC) as well as the board treasurer of the Phoenix Union Education Foundation.

 

Lynn Erickson, Educational Technology Specialist for Stafford Public Schools
Lynn has over 22 years of experience in education. She began her educational career as a language arts and math teacher. During the past 15 years, she has been working as an educational technology specialist assisting various schools in both Connecticut and Mississippi with technology integration in all subject areas. In 2006, Lynn was awarded Mississippi Technology Educator of the Year from the Mississippi Technology Educators Association. She is a national conference speaker, a course instructor for several professional development courses, and a Google Certified Educator.

 

Paul Gigliotti, Social Studies Teacher and Tech Enthusiast
Paul has over 20 years in the classroom—he fires the imagination of students daily through his passion for social studies and educational technology. With accolades that include the Ohio Middle School Teacher of the Year Award (2008), he has been a national conference speaker, an adjunct professor, and has published a paper on “Preparing to Use Technology.” In addition, Paul has been actively involved in developing the MimioConnect® community since its beginning and is currently the MimioConnect site manager.
