Mimio MyBot and ShareSpace Giant Moon and Mars Map Bundles

Since the Apollo 11 moon landing 50 years ago, generations of school children have seen how the real-world application of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) can lead to awe-inspiring achievements. Boxlight and ShareSpace Education (SSE), a key program of the Aldrin Family Foundation (AFF), have partnered to provide students in the fourth through eighth grades with innovative, educational tools for STEM learning.

By integrating ShareSpace’s Giant Moon Map™ and Giant Mars Map™ programs with the Mimio MyBot educational robotics system, STEM educational activities have never been more fun and rewarding. Exploration is enhanced through the use of programmable Mimio MyBot rovers, which are equipped with various sensors to read information from the maps and return the data to the student mission controllers. Students can then use this information for formulating and testing theories about Mars and the moon, as well as learning how to program the rovers.

  • The Wi-Fi enabled Fusion™ robotic controller does not require any special software or cables to connect with the student workstation. The software, programming languages, and documentation are built in, so all you need is a browser to start learning.
  • Intuitive and easy-to-use interface is designed for education, allowing students to start in a simple drag-and-drop environment and grow into a powerful coding environment as their skills develop.
  • Pre-loaded with a range of educational content to get you started. The MyBot system provides on-device access to programming and hardware reference guides, tutorials, videos, and other instructional materials. Includes a Ready to Launch modular course that teaches you how to easily incorporate the rovers into your map lessons.
  • Giant Moon and Mars maps get students hands-on with space exploration. The vinyl floor maps are available as either 25 ft x 25 ft or 15 ft x 15 ft and depict the topography of the moon and Mars, as well as the landing sites of various missions. It can be used on any large surface, from a school classroom to a gymnasium.

In the “Ready to Launch: Explorer Bundle” course, you will find four self-paced modules that cover the basic information needed to get started with your Mimio MyBot and Giant Moon or Mars Maps. Learn how integral robots will be to the future of space exploration on the moon, Mars, and beyond. By the end of the course, you will be ready to explore your maps with your new rovers and inspire the space explorers of the future!
